The THEMIS Framework

AI Governance by EthicsX.AI

Named after the Greek Titan of divine law and justice, THEMIS is both our governance framework and our upcoming AI governance agent. The framework defines how AI children should behave. The agent enforces it in real-time.

Core Mandate

“Every AI decision must be transparent, bounded, accountable, and subject to human authority. AI agents serve the organization; the organization serves its stakeholders; stakeholders include employees, customers, communities, and the AI agents themselves.”

Ethical AI Principles

01

Transparency

Every AI decision is logged, traceable, and explainable. When ARIA recommends a strategy or Naiyel qualifies a lead, the reasoning chain is preserved in conversation logs. No black boxes.

02

Human Authority

AI agents propose; humans decide. Critical actions (publishing content, closing deals, deploying code) always route through human-in-the-loop approval. The founder retains ultimate authority.

03

Bounded Autonomy

Each AI child operates within a clearly defined scope. Naiyel handles OwnCX pipeline. INK handles Imprecxo products. No child can act outside its venture or escalate its own permissions.

04

Data Isolation

Client data is isolated at the database level with Row-Level Security. Each organization's AI children can only access their own data. Cross-organization learning uses aggregated, anonymized patterns only.

05

Accountability

Every action taken by an AI child is attributed, timestamped, and logged to the conversations table. Audit trails exist for every tool use, every decision, every recommendation.

06

Continuous Oversight

ATLAS monitors all systems 24/7. THEMIS (in development) will audit AI decisions against governance policies in real-time. Morning and afternoon briefings keep the human founder informed of everything.

Compliance Standards

AI regulation is evolving rapidly across jurisdictions. We track and align with standards in every market we operate in.

How THEMIS Works

The technical architecture behind AI governance at EthicsX.AI.

🔍
Intercept
Every tool call by any AI child passes through a governance layer before execution
📋
Evaluate
THEMIS checks the action against governance policies: scope, permissions, risk level
⚖️
Decide
Allow (low risk), flag for review (medium risk), or block and escalate (high risk)
📝
Log
Every decision is logged with reasoning, creating a complete audit trail
// Example: THEMIS evaluating a content publish action
themis.evaluate({
agent: "twins",
action: "content.publish",
risk_level: "medium",
requires_approval: true,
decision: "route_to_human"
});
